WELCOMING NEWCOMERS AND THEIR DOGS TO WEATHERSFIELD

2020 saw the arrival of many new homeowners and renters to Weathersfield.  We welcome these new neighbors and their 4-legged pets.  Weathersfield, like much of Fearrington Village, is “dog friendly”; and dogs have helped tremendously in “introducing” residents old and new to one another.

With the arrival of newcomers to Weathersfield, this is a good time to remind all dog owners of the Weathersfield Covenants that address pet ownership in Article IX, Section 4 under “Use Restrictions”.  The WSG Covenants in their entirety are available on the Weathersfield website.  Please know that dogs must be kept within the owner’s home unless on a leash.  While it is not addressed directly in our Covenants, owners are expected to pick up after their dogs not only within Weathersfield but also throughout Fearrington Village.  In addition, please respect the community’s desire for “quiet enjoyment” mentioned elsewhere in our Covenants by not leaving your dog on your patio or screened-in porch where barking and whining may disturb your neighbors.

Welcome, again, to our community where we hope to safely enjoy more face-to-face encounters in the coming year.

UPDATE ON WATER BILLS

Due to a cyber incident that impacted the Chatham County Government on October 28, water bills were not issued in November, will not be issued in December, and MAY NOT be issued in January.  Personnel in the billing department of the Utilities and Water Division reported this week that they are not certain when the billing system will be fully operational.

Tree Pruning Scheduled for Week of December 14

Davey Tree Expert Company

In August 2020, Davey Tree conducted a survey in WSG IV to identify what pruning of branches and trees needed to be done to keep our homes and community safe and attractive.  The survey specifically identifies exactly what pruning needs to be done by house number, Close and Common Areas.

The purpose is to “Prune the trees throughout the community to clear the homes, chimneys, garages, lights and signs as much as appropriate for the respective trees.”

A crew from Davey Tree will be on site starting Monday, December 14 for approximately one week, weather permitting.

It is important to note that this pruning will not impact the homes where holiday decorations and lights have been put up.

NOVEMBER WATER BILLS

Due to a cyber incident that impacted the Chatham County Government on October 28, water bills were not issued in November.  Personnel in the billing department of the Utilities and Water Division reported this week that it could be two (2) to four (4) more weeks before the billing system is fully operational.  Of course, during this time, late fees will not be assessed.

Individuals with further questions can contact the utilities office at 919-542-8270.  A link to the Utilities and Water Division website is also provided below.
