Pruning to Start on June 3

NOTE EARLIER START DATE THAN PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED

Pruning for shrubs in the front and side of the homes (up to the air conditioning units) will start on Monday, June 3, 2019, WEATHER PERMITTING.

PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RUPPERT WORKERS WITH ANY REQUESTS OR ISSUES.  CONTACT Hope Weber OR Peggy Akers WITH YOUR COMMENTS.

Any shrub(s) you do not want trimmed, please tag with the colored tapes that are placed on the bench in each close in a plastic bag.  Once a homeowner has used the tape, return it in the plastic bag to the bench for your neighbors to use.  The tapes will be collected after pruning is complete.

Within 2 weeks following the pruning, please remove any tape that you have put on a bush.

Update on Garage Roofing Project

As previously communicated, garage roof replacement will begin Tuesday, May 28. The project is expected to take 3-4 weeks. Work times will include Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, weather permitting.

To learn more, including the order in which roofs will be replaced and other important information, select “Notices” under the “Documents” pull down menu above or click here.

Please Be Aware of FHA-designated Pathways

The Weathersfield Service Group and the FHA do not provide, designate, or maintain any cut-through paths behind any Weathersfield homes other than roadways and FHA designated pathways.  WSG is only bordered by FHA paths paralleling Village Way and Swim & Croquet.  Our community places high priority on respecting the rights of all residents to peace, privacy, and security.  If you are headed to (or from) the Smokehouse Mail Kiosk, and Weathersfield is in your plans, we encourage you to stay close to the paths on Village Way which have been specifically designated as an official trail by the FHA. That way you both avoid the natural hazards and respect the privacy of residents whose homes sit at the very edge of this section of our neighborhood.

Thank you so much for your help in alerting other walkers to this situation.

Garage Roofing Project

Garage roof replacement will begin in Weathersfield on or about May 28 and continue into June.  The contractor expects 2 days of work activity  in each close.  We will communicate specific timelines for work in each close prior to and during the project.  To learn more, including project information and recommendations for residents, select “Notices” under the “Documents” pull down menu above or click here.

Weekly Lawn Care on Wednesdays

Now that April has arrived, the crew at Ruppert Landscape will begin their weekly maintenance schedule including mowing, edging and blowing, along with any other requests approved by the Landscape Committee. The only change is the day the crew will be on site, Wednesday rather than Thursday. Wednesday, April 10, will begin the new schedule.

Questions? Contact Hope Weber at hopefweber@gmail.com or Peggy Akers at peggy@berkeleychapelhill.com.

(Note: this posting was updated on 4/8/2019 to show Wednesday as the weekday Ruppert will be on site in Weathersfield.)

Your Weathersfield Monthly Dues at Work

Sewer system maintenance has been completed in the Swim and Croquet section of our community. Lines were cleaned by using high pressure jetted water and their condition was observed by using a camera. Three fractures were found 10 to 14 feet deep under the surface and repaired using a point repair technique instead of resorting to the traditional dig and replace method. There was no interruption of service or inconvenience to neighbors. This work is part of our plan to better maintain our aging infrastructure. A portion of our dues are dedicated to this maintenance.
