NEW DATE: WEEK OF JULY 20
As previously mentioned, the rejuvenation pruning for the Elaeagnus throughout the community will commence on Monday, JULY 20. The rejuvenation will take the Elaeagnus down significantly in order to allow more light to reach the lower limbs. The Elaeagnus will be treated at the same time for the fungus that is currently affecting the plants. Do not be surprised by the significant cut back. And, please do not interrupt the Ruppert crew during this pruning.
If you have any questions, please contact Hope Weber or
Peggy Akers.
Thank you.

Ruppert will do a general maintenance pruning of all shrubs in the front and side of homes (up to the AC units) throughout the community beginning the week of July 6, 2020 — WEATHER PERMITTING.
PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RUPPERT WORKERS WITH ANY REQUESTS OR ISSUES. CONTACT HOPE WEBER OR PEGGY AKERS WITH YOUR COMMENTS.
Tag with colored tape any shrub(s) you do not want pruned. Colored tape will be placed on the bench in each close in a plastic bag. When you have used the tape, return it in the plastic bag to the bench for your neighbors to use. The tapes will be collected after pruning is completed.
Within 2 weeks following the pruning, please remove any tape that you have put on the shrubs.
We have identified that the Elaeagnus (common name, Silverberry) shrub throughout the community has a fungus. After consultation with Ruppert, the Landscape Committee has engaged Ruppert for a special rejuvenation project to significantly prune the Elaeagnus and then apply an appropriate treatment to hopefully eliminate the fungus. All of the Elaeagnus along the sides and rears of homes on Woodbury and for several homes that face Weathersfield will be addressed as well as other areas of the community that has this shrub. This rejuvenation is only for ELAEAGNUS, not other shrubbery. IT WILL BE A SEPARATE PRUNING PROJECT – THE DATE HAS NOT YET BEEN ESTABLISHED BUT HOMEOWNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE DATE IS ESTABLISHED.
Thank you – The Landscape Committee
Pursuant to Article VI, Section 3 of our Bylaws, the Weathersfield Service Group VI Board would like to announce its unanimous appointment of David Spencer to the Board of Directors Dave will serve until November 2021, filling the unexpired term of Bill Simpson who is retiring due to personal reasons. While Bill’s knowledge, experience and sunny personality will be sorely missed, the Board believes Dave to be a stellar addition to its ranks. Dave will also assume Bill’s chairmanship of the Insurance Committee.
Because Memorial Day is a holiday, First Choice Disposal will pick up trash and recyclables in Weathersfield on Wednesday, May 27
instead of the normal Tuesday pickup.
The Weathersfield Service Group (WSG) Board of Directors is concerned for the well-being of all the residents of our community and believe we all have a responsibility to support the North Carolina Stay at Home mandate. Most importantly, board members strongly encourage WSG residents to practice the public health guidelines of the U.S. Center for Disease Control, including hand washing with soap for at least 20 seconds and avoiding close contact with others.
In addition, the board has taken additional actions as called for by the North Carolina mandate and to promote the health and well-being of all residents and contractors. Please review this document to understand how the board’s actions affect you.
