Please Welcome New WSG Board Member

Pursuant to Article VI, Section 3 of our Bylaws, the Weathersfield Service Group VI Board would like to announce its unanimous appointment of David Spencer to the Board of Directors  Dave will serve until November 2021, filling the unexpired term of Bill Simpson who is retiring due to personal reasons.  While Bill’s knowledge, experience and sunny personality will be sorely missed, the Board believes Dave to be a stellar addition to its ranks.  Dave will also assume Bill’s chairmanship of the Insurance Committee.

Please express your appreciation for Dave’s willingness to serve next time you see him and Jan walking their dog along Weathersfield road.

March WSG Board Meeting

In the interest of health and public safety, the WSG Board will not be meeting in their usual manner on Friday, March 27th. Mill House, our management company and the committees of the Board will be sharing information in written form among themselves pertaining to the activities in progress.  Minutes will be available soon thereafter on the WSG website which reflect these various activities and updates.

AGM Meeting Packets Have Been Mailed

The Annual General Membership (AGM) Meeting will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Gathering Place.  In order to be sure there is a quorum to conduct the important business of our community, all homeowners should attend in person or complete a proxy document if they are unable to attend.  A downloadable proxy form is here:  WSG Proxy 2019.

All homeowners have been mailed a meeting packet to review before the meeting.  A copy of that packet can be found here: 2019 AGM Packet (Updated).

Weathersfield Annual General Membership Meeting

The Weathersfield Annual General Membership meeting is scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Gathering Place.  (Note time of meeting has been updated from original posting of this article.)  Weathersfield homeowners elect directors at the annual meeting for two-year terms to replace those directors whose terms are expiring.  This year there are three directors whose terms are expiring.  All three directors have agreed to serve a second two-year term, and their names will be placed in nomination by the Nominating Committee.  Additional nominations are welcome at the  meeting.

Please consider serving on a standing committee.  The committees are listed below.  Serving on a neighborhood committee offers a resident the opportunity to be involved in and learn about community business and to support the work of our Board of Directors.  If you are interested in serving, click on Committees and Offices under the WSG Board tab above to learn about committee responsibilities, membership and Committee Chair contact information.  Contact information is also available in the FHA Directory.

Also at this meeting, homeowners will vote on a proposed change in the Bylaws to establish the Committee on Communications as a permanent standing committee of the Board.

Your Weathersfield Monthly Dues at Work

Sewer system maintenance has been completed in the Swim and Croquet section of our community. Lines were cleaned by using high pressure jetted water and their condition was observed by using a camera. Three fractures were found 10 to 14 feet deep under the surface and repaired using a point repair technique instead of resorting to the traditional dig and replace method. There was no interruption of service or inconvenience to neighbors. This work is part of our plan to better maintain our aging infrastructure. A portion of our dues are dedicated to this maintenance.

Recent Updates

  • Due to the recent inclement weather, Ruppert will be very busy with storm cleanup in Weathersfield on Thursday, December 13.  Ruppert has also rescheduled light pruning for Thursday.  Large trees will be pruned by Davey Tree on Monday, December 17.
  • The agenda for the December 14 WSG Board Meeting has been updated to include reports by the Architecture and Buildings & Streets Committees.  The Manager’s Report for the month of December has also been posted.
