PRUNING–Ruppert will prune shrubs in the front and side of homes (up to the AC units) and the common areas in each close throughout the community beginning on Monday, September 16 – WEATHER PERMITTING. They will start with the Eleagnus throughout the community and then focus their pruning on the remaining common area plants and the front and side of homes.
PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT THE RUPPERT WORKERS WITH ANY REQUESTS OR ISSUES. CONTACT HOPE WEBER OR PEGGY AKERS WITH YOUR COMMENTS.
Tag with colored tape any shrub(s) you do not want pruned. Colored tape will be placed on the bench in each close in a plastic bag. When you have used the tape, return it in the plastic bag to the bench for your neighbors to use. The tapes will be collected after pruning is completed. Within 2 weeks following the pruning, please remove any tape that you have put on the shrubs.
LAWN MOWING–Ruppert aerated and overseeded the lawns on Monday, 09/09/19. They have advised us that they will not mow for the next several weeks in order to allow the lawn seeds to take hold. Please understand the grass may be longer than we are used to but there is a valid reason for it.
Aeration and overseeding of all grass areas will occur on Monday, September 9, 2019, weather permitting. In preparation for this project, the grass areas may or may not be mowed during the week of September 2 due to the fact that Ruppert has advised they like to let it grow longer prior to aeration. The grass will be mowed before the aeration project.
The Landscape Committee (Grounds Maintenance and Lot Appearance) is interested in offering educational gardening sessions in the fall and spring seasons to Weathersfield residents on specific topics regarding plantings.
Beginning in September 2019, we have scheduled a session on shrubs/bushes for fall plantings, since October through December is the best time to plant shrubs. Members of the Landscape Committee will be available to discuss a range of bushes/shrubs that are evergreen, deer resistant and suitable for our community. They will also review resources available on-line to consult and the various nurseries offering shrubs/bushes that you can view.
Date: Tuesday, September 24, 2019 – 2:00-3:30 pm
Location: Shelia Creth – 587 Woodbury
If you plan to attend, please RSVP no later than September 18th, 2019 to Shelia.
Weathersfield lawns and grass areas will undergo turf treatment on Monday and Tuesday, July 29 and 30.

Drivers and walkers be aware that Duke Power crews will be working next week (May 13-17) trimming trees around lamp posts and electrical wires along Village Way between Swim & Croquet and the Smokehouse mail kiosk.
Now that April has arrived, the crew at Ruppert Landscape will begin their weekly maintenance schedule including mowing, edging and blowing, along with any other requests approved by the Landscape Committee. The only change is the day the crew will be on site, Wednesday rather than Thursday. Wednesday, April 10, will begin the new schedule.
