Sewer system maintenance has been completed in the Swim and Croquet section of our community. Lines were cleaned by using high pressure jetted water and their condition was observed by using a camera. Three fractures were found 10 to 14 feet deep under the surface and repaired using a point repair technique instead of resorting to the traditional dig and replace method. There was no interruption of service or inconvenience to neighbors. This work is part of our plan to better maintain our aging infrastructure. A portion of our dues are dedicated to this maintenance.

Roofing news
Good news! Both house and garage roofs will be blown off by the crew from Squeaky Clean within the next two weeks, weather permitting. Remember that cleaning gutters is the responsibility of the owners and Squeaky Clean will only be blowing off the roofs.

Another exciting project is happening! In the next four weeks you may see roofing contractors exploring garage roofs. The WSG Board has approved the bidding process for replacement of 92 original garage roofs. BPM sent out requests for proposals and all bids are due back by February 28, 2019.
Christmas Tree Pick-Up
Christmas tree pick-up by Ruppert will occur on the crew’s first visit after January 1 and two weeks later. Please put the trees near the house number signs at the end of your close.
Holiday Trash pickup Schedule
First Choice Disposal will pick up trash and recyclables in Weathersfield on Wednesday, Dececember 26 and Wednesday, January 2 instead of the normal Tuesday pickup day.
Upcoming Ruppert Landscape work
Due to the recent snow storm, Ruppert crews have had to reschedule certain projects. The crew was on site December 13 to prune. Due to snow remaining on the bushes and on the ground, the smaller pruning debris will be removed on December 20 when the crew does its normal site visit. Larger pruning debris was collected the day of the pruning.
Storm debris clean-up: This is a separate project as defined in the Ruppert contract. Hope Weber, Chair of the Grounds Maintenance Committee, has approved a certain amount of money to begin the storm clean-up. The crew will be on site on December 19 to start the clean-up. If more funds are needed, the Ruppert supervisor will send a proposal and the work will be done in early 2019. Ruppert employees are off work the last week of December.
Christmas tree pick up by Ruppert will occur on the crew’s first visit after January 1 and two weeks later. Please put the trees by the street signs at the end of your close.
During the winter Ruppert crews will pick up small, bundled sticks at the end of the closes if they are tied or placed in landscape bags, not garbage bags. The crews will be on site every 10-14 days during winter months.

Light Pruning Planned for December 11 and 12
If the weather cooperates, the crew from Ruppert plans to do a light
pruning throughout the community on December 11 and/or 12. Due to two hurricanes and copious amounts of rain this fall, the crew has had to postpone the pruning and is using this time to take care of really overgrown bushes. Please use the pink ribbon to mark any bushes that you do not want pruned.
