Ruppert Landscape Schedule and Reminders to Homeowners

As was recently shared on the WSG website, Ruppert Landscape will begin its spring and summer regular maintenance in WSG starting per the following schedule:

Weather permitting, these visits are regularly scheduled for Wednesdays each week. If Ruppert cannot come to WSG on a particular Wednesday, the crew will try to come the next day. Please mark your calendars for these weekly Wednesday maintenance visits.

1.   February 25 – 28, 2022: edging and mulching of beds on private property (up to the HVAC system) and Common Areas. Edging will precede mulching and will take several days to complete. Triple Shred dark mulch will again be used.

2.   Starting March 2, 2022, from spring through fall, Ruppert will be in WSG performing their routine maintenance. (For more information see the Landscape Guidance on the WSG website which includes what is covered under Ruppert’s contract with WSG.)

SPECIAL NOTE:  Reminders to homeowners on the proper preparation and placement of leaf bags and yard debris:

1.   Per past Landscape guidance, all leaves and small twigs should be placed in paper leaf bags. Leaf bags are available at Lowes, Home Depot, and other hardware stores. Please do not use plastic bags for leaf disposal.

2.   Larger branches should be bundled together and tied with twine to facilitate easy pickup by Ruppert.

3.   Residents are mindful and compliant with the WSG Tuesday trash and recycle schedule. It would be greatly appreciated if the same could be adhered to for landscape pickup.  A Service Notice from Ruppert will be posted by email and on the WSG website prior to the scheduled Wednesday visits.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS, PLEASE:

Refrain from putting brown paper leaf bags or other yard debris out for pickup until the night before, or the day of, routine maintenance on these dates (see above Schedule).

Refrain from leaving leaf bags or bundles along the grassy edges along Weathersfield, Woodbury, and Swim and Croquet. These items are unsightly and detract from the beauty of our neighborhood.

Rather, each Close should designate a “staging area” within their Close to place these items. For example, keep leaf bags in the garage or behind the house; next to or behind garages that are along the entry to your Close.

This will facilitate Ruppert’s removal of these items during their visits.

For those who have regular gardeners/landscapers, please ask them to remove all such debris when they are at your house/s.

Refrain from parking personal vehicles on the grassy edges along Weathersfield Road and Swim and Croquet. And notify contractors of the same. In November 2021, Ruppert aerated and overseeded the grass on both sides of Weathersfield and the right side of Swim and Croquet to the T-junction at Village Way. Parking on these edges hinders the grass from germinating.

Per the above Schedule, Ruppert is planning on overseeding some of the areas, especially on Common Areas and along these three roads this spring.

Additional dates will be forthcoming. Please check your email or the Weathersfield website, www.weathersfieldsg.org for posted Notices and dates.

RUPPERT LANDSCAPE TO EDGE AND MULCH BEDS

Starting the end of February Ruppert Landscape will begin its spring to fall regular maintenance in WSG starting with edging and mulching.   February 25 – 28, 2022: edging and mulching of beds on private property (up to the HVAC system) and Common Areas.  Edging will precede mulching and will take several days to complete.  Triple Shred dark mulch will again be used.

Starting in March, weather permitting, these visits are regularly scheduled for Wednesdays each week.  If Ruppert cannot come to WSG on a particular Wednesday, the crew will try to come the next day.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF ROOFS

To: All Weathersfield Residents

To further improve our drive towards preventative maintenance (heading off trouble before it starts) we asked our roofing company to inspect our roofs and identify any problems during a planned roof cleaning project.  Once the roofs were blown free of leaves and pine needles in late Fall, the contractor did find a considerable number of defects that included most of the roofs in our community.

After reviewing the work, we have decided to have it done in one block. It will begin on February 14 and likely proceed until the end of the month.

This letter is to make you aware that the contractor will be needing access to most of the roofs in the community during that time. We realize this can at times be inconvenient, but we hope to have all your cooperation. As we get closer to the onset of this work, we will attempt to notify you of the schedule for the individual Closes.

Failure to address the potential weaknesses and other defects would likely result in roof leaks that could lead to further damage to the interiors of our homes and costly repairs.

Please feel free to contact Larry Layton or Steve Krasnow with any questions that you may have.

Sincerely,

David Spencer, Weathersfield HOA Board President

Landscape Committee Notice

Ruppert Landscape will be back in Weathersfield on December 28th to complete regular maintenance for 2021. This will include leaf blowing and debris cleanup prior to the New Year.  Christmas trees and leaf bags will also be picked up on the 28th and again in early January.

Ruppert will continue an approximate 10-day schedule through winter.  Services will include picking up yard waste, loose debris and leaf bags; perennial bush pruning and lawn mowing, as required; and lawn preparation.

Regular weekly services with resume on Wednesdays, weather permitting,  in early spring.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please refrain from putting out brown paper leaf bags or other yard debris until Ruppert’s next expected maintenance visit.

Mulching:  Ruppert will, weather permitting, begin community-wide mulching on January 17, 2022.   It is better to complete mulching early in the year before the grass starts to germinate.

Davey Tree:  Weather permitting, a crew will be in Weathersfield on January 10, 2022, to perform required pruning around houses and over garages.

Additionally, Davey Tree will be thinning out many of the Crepe Myrtle trees on Common Areas sometime in March (date to be determined). Please be aware that no trees are to be cut down or severely reduced in height.

With best wishes for a safe, restful, and enjoyable Christmas and holiday season and New Year!

WEATHERSFIELD HOMEOWNERS AND RESIDENTS

As was recently shared on the WSG website, Ruppert Landscape will begin its fall and winter general maintenance in WSG starting on:

Wednesday, November 24, 2021, and Monday, December 06, 2021

Maintenance on these two days includes leaf removal and general turf maintenance. Mowing will be done on an as needed basis. Please mark your calendars for these dates and please refrain from putting out brown paper leaf bags or other yard debris until the night before, or the day of, routine maintenance on these dates.

Starting in December, Ruppert will spot prune and begin preparing beds for mulch as well as general cleanup and maintenance.

To reiterate:

Ruppert recently completed aeration and overseeding on the grass on both sides of the Weathersfield road and the right side of Swim and Croquet to the T-junction at Village Way on November 12, 2021. For the grass to germinate over the fall and into the spring: (1) please do not park vehicles on the grassy edges along these roads and (2) notify contractors or other visitors not to park on the grass.

It would be appreciated if all residents are mindful of keeping WSG clean and beautiful over the coming months. Thank you.

Additional dates will be forthcoming. Please check the Weathersfield website, www.weathersfieldsg.org for upcoming dates.
